Clinton Dines
Chair
Clinton was born and raised in Queensland and subsequently lived and worked in China for 36 years, 21 as President of BHP Billiton’s China business. He was educated in Asian Studies at Griffith University in Brisbane and in business at INSEAD in France and has extensive experience as an executive in China and Asia businesses.
Since 2009 Clinton has had an active career as a Non-Executive Director, currently serving on the Boards of Fonterra, Port of Newcastle, Zanaga Iron Ore and Sky Renewables. He was previously a Director of KAZ Minerals, Aurecon and North Queensland Airports and Executive Chairman of Caledonia Asia from 2010 to 2013. He is an Adjunct Professor at Griffith University’s Asia Institute and is a Member of the Griffith University Council.
Zhenwu (Alan) She
Director
Zhenwu (Alan) She is currently working in China Merchants Port Holdings Company Limited (CMP) as the Director of Overseas Comprehensive Business Development.
Alan has nearly 30 years of working experience in port industry and has been at CMP for 15 years. He was previously a Deputy GM of CMP overseas department, Chief Engineering Officer of Colombo International Container Terminal (CICT), and GM of HaiQin Project Management Co., with extensive experience on various port investment, construction, operation and project management.
Alan has Bachelor Degree of Civil Engineering in Harbor & Marine Engineering from Chongqing Jiaotong University and Master Degree of Business Administration from National University of Singapore.
Chengguang (Crystal) Lu
Director
Crystal Lu, a dedicated finance professional with more than 20 years of experience, currently serving as a Financial Director of the Finance and Capital Management Department at China Merchants Port Holdings Company Limited (CMP).
For the past six years, Crystal has held the position of CFO at Terminal Link, where she has managed a wide array of port operations across the globe, overseeing financial activities and the strategic management of key assets. Her experience in CMP encompasses a range of financial activities including accounting, reporting, planning, and management, with a focus on improving financial outcomes and informing business decisions.
Tessa Fitzpatrick
Director
Tessa is a Managing Director in Macquarie Asset Management’s Infrastructure business. As part of her role, Tessa sits on several portfolio company boards, including Endeavour Energy.
Prior to joining Macquarie, Tessa spent the last decade in the United States where most recently, she was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Buckeye Partners L.P., which is one of the U.S.’s leading midstream energy companies. In her role as COO of Buckeye, Tessa also served as a Non-Executive Director on the Boards of Swift Current Energy (a utility-scale renewable energy developer), and Bear Head Energy (a 2GW large-scale hydrogen / ammonia production, distribution and export hub in Nova Scotia, Canada).
Prior to Buckeye, Tessa was an investment professional with global institutional fund manager IFM Investors, with responsibilities for transaction execution, transformational strategy, and asset management across a range of midstream and renewable energy investments in IFM’s Global Infrastructure Fund (IFM GIF). Tessa previously played a strategic role in capital formation for IFM GIF.
Tessa holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Finance and Business Law from the University of Melbourne, a Master of Applied Finance from FINSIA, and is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program, and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Xiaofeng Li

Xiaofeng Li was appointed as a Director effective 16 June 2023 and is currently general manager of the Legal and Compliance Department at China Merchants Port Holdings Company Limited (CMP).
He has extensive experience in maritime and civil law with a doctorate degree of law, along with acting as an arbitrator in arbitration commissions.
Maciek Kwiatkowski
Director
Maciek is an expert in port operations and development, with over 35 years of experience in six countries.
Maciek is the Senior Ports Advisor to Macquarie Infrastructure & Real Assets in the Asia Pacific region. From 2013 to 2016, Maciek was the CEO of Deepwater Container Terminal (DCT) Gdansk in Poland, overseeing growth from 500,000 to 1.6 million TEUs and a €200m construction of a second deepwater terminal. His career in Australia included roles with P&O Ports in Melbourne and Sydney from 1984 to 1994. Internationally, Maciek worked in various terminals and rail companies including Vostochny International Container Services, SeaLand Russia, South Asia Gateway Terminal in Sri Lanka and DP World Callao in Peru.
Brian Salter
Director
Over his career as a senior business executive, Brian has worked in a number of highly regulated industries and has led legal, governance, risk, compliance, and cyber security internal audit and economic regulation functions.
Brian was a partner at one of Australia’s leading law firms, Clayton Utz, for many years. His executive leadership roles include as a Managing Partner at Clayton Utz, General Counsel positions at AMP and Thorn, and, most recently, as Executive General Manager for Legal, Governance and Risk at Transgrid. He has served as a Chair and Director on many Boards and Committees. His leadership has supported corporate transformations, mergers and acquisitions, financings, and governance initiatives across multiple sectors.
Brian holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Law (Honours) from the Australian National University and a Master of Law (Honours) from Sydney University. He is a graduate of the Harvard Business School on Managing Professional Services Organisations and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Christine Williams
Chair
Christine has more than 30 years broad local and international experience as an M&A lawyer and senior business executive in the infrastructure, property and financial services industries.
She has worked in private practice and as part of the leadership teams for high-profile real estate and infrastructure funds management businesses advising both listed and unlisted boards, most recently as an Executive Director and Global General Counsel for the Macquarie Infrastructure and real assets division for 21 years. Other non-executive directorships currently held by Christine are with Queensland Airports Limited , the Australian Energy Market Operator Limited and not-for-profit organisations supporting indigenous education, the performing arts and affordable housing.
Carol Cheng
Director
Carol is the General Manager of Office of Board of Directors and also the Head of Investor Relation of China Merchants Port Holdings Company Limited (CMP).
Carol has worked in CMP for 18 years in Finance Department, Legal Department, Investor Relation and Office of Board of Directors. She is also the director of various port investments in Sri Lanka, Brazil and Togo. She has also actively participated in M&A activities, Financing activities, Investor Relation and Corporate Governance in CMP. She is a fellow of The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, UK.
Marianne Kim
Director
Marianne is a Director in Macquarie Asset Management’s Infrastructure business, with responsibilities across client, fund and asset level outcomes, including portfolio management, fund strategy, Board engagement, investor relations and capital raising.
Marianne has over 14 years of infrastructure funds experience, having worked across MAM’s listed and unlisted infrastructure businesses in Sydney and London. Previous roles have included finance advisory for acquisitions and divestments, treasury and capital management, as well as investor relations for the Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund series in London.
Marianne holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Co-op Program) degree from the University of New South Wales, and is a qualified Chartered Accountant with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
Luke Tan
Director
Luke Tan is Vice General Manager of Operations Management at China Merchants Port (CMP). He serves as Terminal Link Investment Committee representative and overseas project liaison lead, holding directorships at Hambantota Port, Colombo CICT, Turkey Kumport, and Djibouti PDSA. He oversees 10 projects covering 28 ports across 22 countries.
Previously, he led TCL’s Middle East & Africa business, achieving nearly US$200 million in annual sales and US$15 million in profit. He later headed business development at CMP’s IT subsidiary and Silk Road E-Business, spearheading trade facilitation initiatives in Djibouti and Ethiopia.
He holds a BA in Arabic from Beijing Foreign Studies University and an MBA from HKUST.

Craig Carmody
Chief Executive Officer
Craig joined Port of Newcastle as Chief Executive Officer in August 2018, building on extensive experience spanning the transport, maritime and infrastructure sectors.
From 2014 Craig was Head of Strategy and Corporate Affairs at Svitzer, the towage services division of Maersk Group, where he was responsible for strategy, innovation, and corporate affairs. While at Svitzer, Craig also led the regulatory affairs engagement with governments, port owners, and port authorities.
Craig has held senior roles in the Australian Federal Government, serving as the Director of Policy in the Prime Minister’s Office, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Deputy Prime Minister, and Senior Policy Advisor to Ministers for Infrastructure and Transport, and Workplace Relations and Employment.
He served 10 years in the Australian Army, including the Special Forces, reaching the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and holds post-graduate qualifications in public policy, business management, and industrial and employee relations.
Glen Hayward
Executive Manager Marine & Operations
Glen’s responsibilities include wharf services, vessel scheduling, port cargo logistics, terminal operations, port security, emergency management, survey services, dredge operations and marine fleet management.
Glen joined Port of Newcastle in 2014 as Operations Supervisor.
Glen has previously held senior operational and rail freight logistics management roles at WSP and Aurizon.
Nick Livesey
Chief Financial Officer & Chief Commercial Officer
Nick is Chief Financial Officer at Port of Newcastle, with responsibility for the organisation’s financial strategy, implementation, governance and ESG.
Nick joined the Port in May 2019 having most recently spent 12 years at Sydney Airport, which is Australia’s largest and busiest airport. Nick performed a range of senior financial management roles, including four years as Head of Finance.
With extensive experience in the infrastructure and property sectors, Nick has a track record of identifying trends and business levers to maximise asset utilisation and returns. He was previously a Senior Manager at global consultancy firm Ernst & Young and has a reputation as a strategic business partner adept at navigating a complex business environment where there are competing priorities.
Nick holds a BA (Hons) Economics (Industrial) from University of Leeds and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
Ashley Cooper
General Counsel
Ashley is the General Counsel and Company Secretary at the Port of Newcastle, with responsibility for the legal, company secretarial, property, environment and planning business functions.
Ashley joined the Port of Newcastle in February 2022 and brings significant experience in the maritime, logistics and engineering fields.
Ashley holds degrees in Laws from Macquarie University and Engineering (Environmental) from the University of Newcastle.
Lucas Coleman
Executive Manager Corporate Affairs
Lucas is responsible for government relations and advocacy, customer and stakeholder relationships, marketing and brand management, public relations, communications and media management, along with and Chief Executive and Board support.
Lucas is a seasoned communications and corporate affairs leader with over 16 years of experience in reputation and brand management, government relations, and strategic communications. As the Executive Manager of Corporate Affairs at the Port of Newcastle, he is responsible for driving organisational objectives through strategic engagement and impactful communication.
A persuasive advocate, Lucas has been instrumental in shaping policy change and securing government funding from both state and federal entities. Prior to his current role, Lucas held positions of increasing responsibility at the Port of Newcastle and with the NSW Government. His expertise includes developing and executing strategic communication plans for nationally significant infrastructure projects, transforming feedback into actionable insights that have shifted organisational direction.
He is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds a Master of Digital Media and a Bachelor of Communication from the University of Newcastle. His career is defined by his ability to create compelling narratives, influence key stakeholders, and drive organisational success through a combination of communication, data analysis, and stakeholder management.
Geraldine Bourgarel
Chief Planning, Strategy & Commercial Officer
Geraldine is an experienced executive with over 20 years’ experience across ports, airports and energy infrastructure, specialising in strategy, planning and commercial transformation in complex, regulated environments.
She has held senior leadership roles at Ampol, NSW Ports and Sydney Airport, leading large-scale precinct development, diversification strategies and infrastructure planning across nationally significant assets. At NSW Ports, she led and contributed to the development of container and vehicle cargo opportunities, strengthening her experience in port diversification and logistics.
Her experience spans master planning, capital sequencing, commercial structuring and stakeholder alignment in capital-intensive settings.
At Ampol, Geraldine led the transformation of a former oil refinery into a large-scale energy and industrial precinct, shaping a credible and investable pathway for future development.
She is recognised for bringing clarity and discipline to complex decisions, translating strategic ambition into structured, phased investment pathways that balance commercial outcomes with regulatory, community and long-term planning considerations.
Geraldine holds an Executive MBA from the University of Technology Sydney and a Master’s degree in Project and Program Management from SKEMA Business School in Paris, and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
